Betos Taqueria was founded by Rafael and Eduardo, two passionate brothers from Querétaro, Mexico, who wanted to bring the authentic flavors of their homeland to their new community in St. Johns, Portland. With 15 years of experience in the restaurant industry, they decided to pursue their dream during the pandemic and opened Betos Taqueria. They are one of the few Latino owned business in St. Johns.
The name "Betos" comes from Eduardo’s son, Roberto, short for "Beto." The logo, which is based on a baby picture of Beto, was created by the talented Katy Kirby.
